Dong Xam village are well-known to be the expert of silver and copper carving and plating but it has been suffering from mass demands (mass and cheap production) and other negative impacts for years since the open door policy. This bad impacts of course result more threats than opportunities for many villagers who are living on this job.

Mr. Dang Xuan Tao, one of the silver craftsmen, was born in this village, he loves this art and has experienced the threats happening recently, so with his dedication to this fine art, he came up with the idea of an association in late 2002.

Then in May 2003, it was high time for him to do something-the Dong Xam Silver Carving Association was established by him and some other associates.

DXSA is definitely a lovely home for the dedicated silversmiths, craftsmen and associated families. The management board as follows;
